Hungry Howie’s Pizza, established in 1973 in Taylor, Michigan, is known for its innovative and flavorful approach to pizza. As a prominent player in the quick-service pizza industry, Hungry Howie’s operates on a franchise model and has grown to more than 500 locations across the United States. Challenges

Hungry Howie’s was struggling to appear prominently on search engine results pages (SERPs), particularly against major competitors. The company lacked proper analytics tracking from its website to its ordering system, leaving them without actionable insights to make data-driven decisions. Solutions

Following the pilot's success, the strategy expanded to include all locations in Michigan and across the U.S. (excluding Florida). The strategy achieved such significant results that it was rolled out to include Florida locations, for a total of 500+ locations nationwide. It focused on:

  • Local SEO: Optimizing store pages with fresh, localized content, updating internal structures, and improving keyword rankings for “pizza delivery” and other related searches.
  • National SEO: Conducting a national audit and implementing a roadmap that included creating high-quality content, refreshing blog posts, and pursuing link-building opportunities.
  • Analytics and Data Tracking: Developing centralized dashboards through Google Looker Studio for each location and franchisee, rolling up into a corporate-level view. UTM codes were added to track the customer journey from search to order.
  • Content Enhancements: Enhancing location pages with unique store-level content, photos, and links to community involvement efforts such as local charities and sponsorships.

The comprehensive strategy ensured Hungry Howie’s could effectively compete against major pizza chains like Domino’s and Pizza Hut while improving localized rankings to attract customers from mom-and-pop competitors. By expanding the pilot program into a nationwide effort, Americaneagle.com delivered a scalable, data-driven approach that aligns with Hungry Howie’s growth and revenue goals.
