Challenges
The web architecture supporting three websites for Allied Universal’s digital presence across the United States, Canada, and Mexico was aging, fragmented, and needed to be updated. With their legacy Drupal platform installation no longer being supported by developers and patches, overall capabilities, performance, and full confidence in digital security were a growing concern.
Solutions
Allied Universal established a partnership with Americaneagle.com to rebuild a highly secure, scalable digital foundation that would advance the enterprise’s ambitious international growth.
A complete visual redesign prioritized modern layouts, component redevelopment, service-based landing pages, and industry-specific portals. The interdisciplinary team designed, reviewed, and refined in Figma, systematically converting all next-generation solutions into highly responsive, performant Drupal web pages.
To align the previously siloed country sites, the project team implemented the Drupal domain module within an updated Drupal platform core, consolidating the U.S., Canada, and Mexico properties into a single, powerful backend authoring environment. This centralized structure within Pantheon, a preferred Drupal hosting and WebOps partner of Americaneagle.com, eliminated hosting redundancy for each website. That not only saved significant costs, but has also enabled efficient, timely, simultaneous security updates across all entities.
To deploy more localized content for each country-site, the team integrated OpenAI translation capabilities through the Drupal AI module. To ensure important contextual nuance and accuracy, automated French and Spanish translations of English assets were routed through internal teams in batches for consistent review and validation. This feedback loop has optimized quality and efficiency alongside unprecedented value and performance.
Many additional development considerations, priorities, and technology integrations have impactfully added to the new web presence for Allied Universal. Storybook and single directory components were merged into a custom theme to improve performance testing for UX, accessibility, and more. Marketing capabilities have benefitted from seamless Marketo integrations that support gated content and form fills on the new site. Email marketing templating has promoted campaign quality and consistency as well. Integration with OneTrust has met continually evolving cookie compliance needs. Advanced site search capabilities within Coveo are now getting site users to the assets they seek faster than ever before.
