Lurvey partnered with Americaneagle.com to pursue next-generation digital performance. Considering the internal team’s existing familiarity with WordPress, and the platform’s adaptability and scalability for future needs, it was selected to be the foundational content management system. WooCommerce, a respected ecommerce option within the WordPress ecosystem, would be integrated to power online shopping.
Within the new website build, the team consolidated the B2B and B2C websites into one web presence that could intelligently adapt for all users. The website welcomes new users with general business and product introduction, as well as current promotions. Once a relationship becomes a registered user and has established an account, the web solutions appropriately personalize their experience in relation to their shopping history, assigned business group, and professional role.
The development team partnered with an existing retail vendor to successfully integrate the new website with Counterpoint, the enterprise resource planning (ERP) technology used by Lurvey. That key integration enables website activity within WooCommerce to be seamlessly merged with data from the point-of-sale system used at each physical store location. Customer data includes sales history, billing, loyalty points program, variable pricing agreements, and much more. Data for over 8,000 Lurvey products includes enhanced descriptions, associated digital assets, and inventory levels.
Maximizing WooCommerce tools and integrations enabled excellent product catalog management. The Lurvey team now utilizes WooCommerce's product types (simple, variable, and group) to improve data relationships and efficiencies across approximately 150 product categories and sub-categories.
WooCommerce’s quick view feature within product searches promotes faster product review and ordering for customers. An advanced search plugin also provides broader indexing capabilities, leading to more relevant search results that are based on weighted measures from Lurvey.
Once logged in, dynamic pricing and content visibility is customized to each website user. Not only can they shop and check out more efficiently, but they can also create wish lists for future consideration. The shopping experience has also benefited from adding gift card and coupon capabilities, as well as a wider range of payment options for credit cards, pay in-store, or registered accounts (B2B only). More options for pickup and delivery have also been added.
Following comprehensive training, the Lurvey team has quickly become proficient and increasingly independent in managing the new website. Training also included consistent application and maintenance of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to promote inclusive practices throughout the new website.
