Coburn’s Launches More Connected and Scalable Ecommerce
With more than 60 locations across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama, Coburn’s Supply Company is a family-owned distributor serving commercial and residential customers across plumbing, electrical, waterworks, HVAC, appliances, and related categories.
Challenges
Coburn’s aspired to move beyond basic online order processing and create a more capable B2B ecommerce experience. They wanted to provide stronger support for complex customer accounts, branch operations, product data, account-based pricing, inventory, and fulfillment to promote growth.
New digital solutions also needed to reduce bottlenecks caused by unnecessary manual entry of order details, improve catalog management, expand searchability and product content, and make digital services more reliable. Just as important, Coburn’s wanted to extend its reach beyond existing markets while simplifying customer acquisition and onboarding.
Solutions
Coburn’s partnered with Americaneagle.com to evaluate its ecommerce technology, business processes, and customer needs. Following interviews, customer feedback, solution analysis, and operational review, Americaneagle.com recommended ROC Commerce as the platform foundation for Coburn’s modernized ecommerce solutions.
The new environment effectively connects product information, customer accounts, branch operations, and digital purchasing in a unified web and mobile experience. A direct API integration between ROC Commerce and Coburn’s ERP gives signed-in customers access to account-specific and contract pricing, quantity discounts, product availability, open orders, invoices, payment history, and years of transaction data.
Customers can now pay invoices online by credit card or ACH, while automated registration workflows help match new web users to existing ERP accounts, expediting approval. Account workflows, multiple carts, and reusable shared order templates give business customers more control over purchasing by project, location, or user.
Repeat ordering is another major advancement. Customers can now reorder from past purchases, use saved order templates, and manage replenishment workflows. Through the Coburn’s Connect mobile app, field users can scan barcodes, check pricing, build order queues, and place orders from jobsites, service vehicles, or warehouses.
Product information is supplied through Coburn’s Inriver PIM, a centralized source for descriptions, specifications, attributes, and other assets across hundreds of thousands of products. ROC Commerce product identifiers make products searchable by Coburn’s numbers, manufacturer numbers, UPCs, and customer-specific part numbers.
Algolia powers intelligent search and product discovery with category-specific filtering, personalization, and recommendations. ROC Commerce also supports units of measure, quantity requirements, selling restrictions, technical specifications, and fulfillment rules. Native in-store pickup connects ecommerce with Coburn’s branch network, providing digital convenience while supporting the company’s local service model.
The new platform also supports flexible brand experiences, scalable SEO metadata, and specialized landing pages for priority brands. Since launch, Coburn’s and Americaneagle.com have continued expanding capabilities with new account controls, payment options, search enhancements, pickup features, product identifiers, and purchasing tools.
Together, these capabilities give Coburn’s customers a more connected way to find products, manage accounts, repeat purchases, pay invoices, and work with their preferred branch. This high-performance ecommerce engine is helping power Coburn’s continued growth.
