American Dental Association Website Wins Outstanding Achievement Award

Americaneagle.com is pleased to announce that the American Dental Association (ADA) website has won the Interactive Media Awards Outstanding Achievement Award in the category for "Associations". The Outstanding Achievement award is one of the top honors bestowed by the Interactive Media Awards. The American Dental Association website –www.ada.org - has excelled in many areas of the judging criteria, which represents a high standard of planning and execution.

The American Dental Association is the nation's largest dental association, representing more than 157,000 dentist members. ADA has grown to become the leading source of oral health related information for dentists and their patients. The ADA is a member-run organization managed by an elected Board of Trustees and a 473-member House of Delegates.
The American Dental Association website, developed by Americaneagle.com, is also hosted in the Americaneagle.com data center on a Sitecore multi-site platform. It includes 4 separate sites: success.ada.org, ada.org, mouthhealthy.org and mouthhealthykids.org. The ADA sites required a very high level of customization, which allows their staff members full control over the sites and control over how the information appears to the front end user.

Some of the customizations included specialized widgets, which allow for particular customizations and design changes when data is entered into them. 25 widgets were created for the project, including a Twitter widget located on the homepage. Another customization the American Dental Association implemented included "Smart Ads". "Smart Ads" allow users to link a data source to one sub-layout for populating an advertisement onto many pages at once, instead of adding them page by page. The brand for each site was carefully laid out by incorporating multiple publication data templates and HTML templates to appropriately display the different branding.
