Americaneagle.com Celebrates those who Served this Veterans Day

Veterans Day is a time to honor American veterans for their service, patriotism, and sacrifices while on active duty. The men and women who served in the military – our brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, neighbors and friends – willingly risked their lives to protect and defend our freedom. As a company with over 500 employees, Americaneagle.com is happy to have veterans as our co-workers and we celebrate their service on this Veterans Day.

One way in which we support veterans is our work with the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce in helping veterans with resumes and interview prep. Through a 10-week program, veterans learn about possible careers, writing resumes, interviewing, and more with the help of chamber members and other mentors. Those veterans who take part in this program also receive a career enhancement package worth $8,000 and, upon graduation, they’re invited to a career fair that helps them potentially find a job that matches their skills and desired career path.

Colin Kipping-Ruane, a Navy veteran and graduate of the 2018 program, is a team leader and strategic thinker in his role as a project manager with Americaneagle.com. Regarding the program and its role in matching him with the company, Colin says, “I’m happy to be with Americaneagle.com, a company that supports veterans. I have always lived by the mantra 'service before self,' and I look forward to helping fellow veterans as a mentor in this outstanding program.” We’re proud to have Colin, as well as other veterans, on our team and we honor them for their service.

In addition, we’re excited to soon be sponsoring the “Warriors: In Their Own Words” podcast, hosted by former U.S. Navy pilot Ken Harbaugh. This interesting and entertaining podcast includes amazing stories of war told by the veterans who fought for our nation in World War II, the Vietnam War, and other conflicts.

This Veterans Day, as we celebrate the brave, dedicated, and selfless men and women who served in the U.S. military, we know that our freedoms are in place because of their service.

As a company, Americaneagle.com is proud to support programs that help veterans and we’re thrilled to have them as members of our team. We acknowledge their sacrifice and valor and thank all veterans on this special day.
