Just a few short weeks ago, several of our ecommerce team members attended IRCE
at McCormick Place in Chicago. If you are not familiar with the show, IRCE (Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition) is recognized as the largest e-commerce trade show in the industry. The show attracts thousands of attendees from around the globe over the course of several days.
IRCE is a top destination for online retailers for 2 reasons – 1) its exhibit hall of 600+ of the top ecommerce solution providers and 2) fantastic content which provides retailers with plenty of tips and best practices for growing their online sales.
This year, in addition to exhibiting, Americaneagle.com contributed to IRCE’s agenda with a speaking session. We were proud to have one of our digital strategists, Joe Gustafson, discuss email marketing strategies alongside our client, PinMart
. Despite the abundance of “junk mail” and spam that people get nowadays, statistics and reports show that email marketing is certainly not dead, and retailers are always looking for new tactics to help them get the most from their email marketing campaigns.
In addition to discussing email marketing tactics at IRCE, we heard from many retailers on upcoming projects and challenges they are facing.
Leveraging Digital Marketing
The digital marketing umbrella was among the most talked-about topics at IRCE this year. In addition to email marketing support, retailers spoke with us about social media marketing, search traffic (SEO & PPC), content marketing, A/B testing, and much more.
Platform Version Upgrades/Re-platforming
Our team also heard from many retailers who were either on an outdated version of an ecommerce platform or were running into limitations. As the Web evolves and customer expectations grow, retailers are recognizing that their platforms needs to scale and deliver an easy and enjoyable experience. Sometimes a version upgrade is the solution. Other times, retailers seek out a totally new platform to accomplish their goals.
Each year, more and more B2B retailers seek us out at IRCE to discuss their unique ecommerce challenges. These B2B companies understand that the shopping experience on their site needs to be just as easy as it is with any B2C site.
Most online retailers rely on several platforms and systems to help run their ecommerce website – from sales tax software, to payment processors, email marketing, live chat, and much more. Finding a provider who can help support the critical integration points between systems has never been more important.
Regardless of whether or not you attended IRCE this year, we would love to hear from you – especially if you can relate to any of the above topics/challenges. Americaneagle.com’s ecommerce experts are looking forward to reviewing your site and discussing solutions!
