Situation:
The U.S. Army Community and Family Support Center (CFSC) provides all Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) programs to the U.S. Army and employs more than 48,000 persons serving active-duty and retired soldiers and their families. The Web site - www.armymwr.com - serves as a resource to both the CFSC employees as well as the entire Army community. CFSC required a complete overhaul to the architecture and the graphical interface of the site in order to allow for easier, more intuitive navigation.
Objective:
To re-architect the more than 5,000 Web pages within armymwr.com and to create a new graphic design and navigation system that enables users to more easily find site information.
Impact Results:
The CFSC programs around the world now actively promote and use the site in their everyday activities, and more and more Army personnel and their families access the site for immediate information regarding morale, welfare, and recreation system. The Site Admin Tools and the content management system enable CFSC staff to better delegate the management of the site.
Solution:
Americaneagle.com worked closely with the Army staff in separating the vast amount of content into two distinct portals - one for CFSC employees and one for the general Army community. Their site's architecture and navigation was recreated to encompass all sections of the site in an intuitive manner. In addition, Americaneagle.com created several Site Admin Tools allowing CFSC to manage and distribute mailing lists, place content and advertisements throughout the site, and implement a work-flow system for their online journal.
