Situation: The Portillo Group is recognized as the Midwest's Largest Privately Owned Restaurant Group. Before beginning a redesign project, The Portillo Group was utilizing a Web site that had an outdated design and no longer had an ideal structure for navigation between their multiple restaurant concepts. In an effort to refresh their Web site and improve navigation, Portillo's contacted Americaneagle.com.
Objective: Portillo's was looking to create a stronger Web presence that would effectively showcase their multiple restaurant concepts within one online portal.
Solution: To achieve The Portillo Group's goals and allow for future online growth, Americaneagle.com implemented the following elements:
Renewed Design: Americaneagle.com created an entirely new design that complements the branding of the overarching Portillo Brand in addition to each of their concept restaurants. The site now creates an exciting presence that appeals to customers and strengthens brand identity.
Sub sites: Portillos.com was updated to included individual restaurant sub sites that work to represent each restaurant's unique atmosphere, menus, and locations. Indeed, these sub sites allow for each restaurant to keep individual branding yet remain connected within the overarching Portillo's Restaurant Group company.
Dynamic Image Slideshows: In addition to a new layout, the Web site homepage and sub sites now include dynamic image slideshows that work to successfully represent the atmosphere of each of the restaurants. The Portillo Group maintains full control of these images with the ability to add or remove images through their upgraded Content Management System.
Flash video: Flash video was introduced with this redesign project as an added interactive component for site visitors. The high quality video is linked on the homepage and automatically streams, allowing visitors to view the promotional video without long wait periods.
E-commerce Enhancements: Americaneagle.com worked with the Portillo Group to add new upgrades to the e-commerce portion of their Web site. Keeping the upcoming holiday season in mind, the site was developed to make purchasing as easy as possible. Indeed, the site's e-commerce store now includes an account login with gift reminders, wishlists, account history, and more.
