Needs
Before the Americaneagle.com redesign, the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco relied on a Web site that was outdated and uninspiring. To be more appealing to recruits, especially, Air Station San Francisco knew that their Web site needed to be rescued.

Solutions
Americaneagle.com and Air Station San Francisco focused on several keys areas:

Design Graphics that Reflect the USCG Image
All of the graphical elements, including the bold red color and helicopter image, were designed to give the site a energized look and feel.

Target More than One Audience
Americaneagle.com and Air Station San Francisco created several sections on the Web site, including Transient Aircrew Info, geared towards the diverse needs of visitors.

Build Repeat Visitors with Fresh Content
Aptly named “Public Affairs”, this section of the site offers a wealth of information about USCG happenings and includes recent pictures, a Search and Rescue demo request form, and highlights of the current month’s events.

Results
Since the deployment of the new Web site, Air Station San Francisco has been receiving accolades from all areas of the U.S. Coast Guard. According to Chris Bonner, Personnel Officer and Web site Administrator, the site’s appeal is a combination of lively graphics and well-organized information. “The site allows the U.S. Coast Guard to project a positive, polished image to all audiences. It also makes it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for….something that the site wasn’t able to do previously.”
