Situation: Pasquinelli & Portrait Homes is one of the largest privately owned homebuilding companies in the nation. Prior to working with Americaneagle.com, Pasquinelli upheld a site that, while full with useful information, did not project the highly professional image of the company as a whole. The site was also not on par with other builder Web sites in the townhome and single-family marketplace. In light of these limitations, Pasquinelli & Portrait Homes turned to Americaneagle.com for a major overhaul of their Web site.
Objective: The objective was to redevelop the Web site to maintain consistency with growing trends within the homebuilding industry. Furthermore, to remain up-to-speed with company expansion, Pasquinelli required a full redesign of their site as to attract customers and keep existing customers informed about new Pasquinelli services.
Solution: To achieve the above goals, Americaneagle.com focused on the following elements:
Customized Graphical Layout: Americaneagle.com worked with Pasquinelli to design a Web site that enhances the user experience to the highest level. The new site portrays imagery, emotion, and all of the excitement about buying a new construction home. The photography on the homepage supports those feelings because the user is not looking for the bricks and mortar; they are looking for “HOME.”
Intuitive Navigational System: For optimal site user-friendliness, the new site includes a comprehensive navigation that is both easy and accessible and allows users to get to any section of the Web site using the fewest number of clicks possible. Drop down menus and highly visible homepage “buttons” are an important aspect to this end. The homepage, in particular, provides the visitor with an immediate image of the Pasquinelli brand and directs them to the most important sections of the site quickly and efficiently (such as Find Your Home). Indeed, the Find Your Home navigation found on the homepage is a special tool that quickly allows the user to drill down (National, metro area, community, and model) to a specific model in a specific location. Furthermore, the homepage contains a Flash-built interactive map as that serves to visually guide the user through the searching process.
Content Management System (CMS): Another key area of development was a custom-designed Content Management System (CMS) that allows Pasquinelli and its administrative staff to make quick Web site edits any time the need arises. For Web site “freshness”, this tool also enables Pasquinelli to change out featured content on the homepage. Additionally, the system allows administrators to set permission levels to block access to some backend users and designate possible start and stop dates so that content can be automatically removed from the site after a certain date has passed.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Pasquinelli.com was also fully optimized to be more “search engine friendly.” Indeed, SEO was the key to ensure that the new Web site would be easy to find by Pasquinelli’s target audience. Accordingly, the site was optimized to its potential through the integration of tools such as: smarter page titles, keyword-rich textual content, meta tags and ALT descriptions.
